Cape Armature Winders (CAW) was established 47 years ago and has built up a reputation as one of the premier service providers of electrical and mechanical repairs to AC and DC motors and alternators, generators and pumps in South Africa. CAW is a family owned and operated company, both directors (George and Nick Epenetos) have been at the company for over 28 years. CAW currently employs 72 staff and has plans to grow the business over the next 3-5 years.
CAW has been looking for a BBBEE partner that also has a heart for making an impact in the lives of people in South Africa. In Kamvalethu they have found a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) which has a love for children and their education. We are excited at the possibilities that this partnership presents.
Children in low income and underdeveloped areas bear the brunt of the poor education that often characterises these areas. Kamvalethu desires to give children like these, access to a quality education regardless of where they live so that they might have the opportunity to influence their own life trajectory.
Kamvalethu invests money and resources in schools and other NPO’s that are innovators in educating previously disadvantaged children living in underdeveloped areas. They fund these investments by acquiring shares in businesses which then allows Kamvalethu as a shareholder to receive dividend income. CAW has sold a 26% share to Kamvalethu. We are proud and excited to be partnered with an organisation that sows into the lives of these children….giving them a hope and a future. We feel this partnership reflects part of the original heartbeat of BBBEE.
George Epenetos, Director of CAW says “I hope and pray that the realisation of the future successes of CAW will be shared with hundreds of children who are in need of an education….this should assist each of us in answering the “why” we come to work each day.”
